The Energy Efficiency Tax Credits are designed to encourage homeowners, like you, to replace inefficient heating and cooling systems with high-efficiency models to cut national energy usage while providing jobs and economic activity. The tax credits are taken right off of your 2010 taxable income when you replace your heating or air conditioner systems, or replace your old water heater with a new tankless unit.
Important home improvement incentives were given to homeowners on February 17, 2009, when President Obama signed the “Stimulus Bill.” Energy efficiency tax credits have been expanded and now apply to products purchased and placed into service during 2009 and 2010.
Upgrade your current equipment this year and receive up to $1500 in tax credits.
If you replace with Geothermal equipment, you’ll enjoy no limit on tax credits. Geothermal equipment buyers receive credits equaling 30% of the total cost. While more expensive up-front, Geothermal will save you the most on energy costs in the long term. We bet you didn't know that Shipley Heating and Cooling is a leading installer of Geothermal systems in South Central PA!
Shipley appreciates the opportunity to talk on the phone or to meet at your home. We'll help you figure out how much (and what type of) tax credits you are eligible for. We'll give you a prompt call back, and we'll offer to meet with you for free.
If there ever was a time to do something about your heating or cooling system...
You can't put off getting started much longer, because your new system must be in use by December 31, 2010 to qualify for these great tax credits.
Tax Credit Approved Equipment Includes:
- New qualified ultra-efficient natural gas, oil furnace and propane furnace systems
- New tankless water heaters
- Geothermal heating/cooling equipment—featuring tax credits at 30% of total cost
- Qualified central air conditioning systems
To take advantage of your tax credits now, talk to a Shipley Heating and Cooling systems consultant. If you allow us, a Shipley home efficiency consultant will come to your residence and learn from you how your system really runs. We'll figure out why certain rooms are warm while others are cool, and how we can get your rooms more balanced. We'll look at your current furnace or heat pump system and talk with you about what new furnace or fuel makes the most sense.
Tax credits are not expected to be extended past 2010.
To do the job right, you need to get started soon so there isn't needless rushing that adds to your expense. Many heating and cooling system companies, including Shipley, are very busy installing new systems to meet the 2010 deadline. Geothermal systems, while the most cost-effective, do require a well to be drilled, and in some cases underground piping to be installed. If you're switching to propane, you may want to bury your tank, which would require some digging.
Shipley coordinates every activity and every contractor required for your new system installation, so you only ever have one call to make for answers no matter what. When the job is done, Shipley will provide you all the documentation needed to claim your tax credits.
Thank you for considering the pros at Shipley Energy.
